π§ The 4 Psychological Axes Β· μ°λ¦¬κ° μΈ‘μ νλ 4κ°μ μΆ
Every relationship pattern in this test breaks down into four binary choices. These aren't our invention β they're a plain-language rework of dimensions that have been repeatedly validated in peer-reviewed research over the past 40 years.
I / O β Attachment Style Β· μ μ°© μ€νμΌ
I (Independent) types self-soothe and keep emotional distance under stress. O (Open) types seek closeness and reassurance.
Based on Hazan & Shaver (1987), "Romantic love conceptualized as an attachment process."
C / A β Communication Style Β· μν΅ λ°©μ
C (Constructive) types name problems and negotiate. A (Avoidant) types stonewall, withdraw, or explode later.
Draws on Gottman & Silver (2015), "Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work."
V / S β Emotional Expression Β· μ μ νν
V (Vulnerable) types show emotion openly. S (Stoic) types keep it hidden even from themselves.
Related to Mikulincer & Shaver (2007), attachment-based emotion regulation research.
R / C β Control Pattern Β· ν΅μ μ±ν₯
R (Relaxed) types give partners space. C (Controlling) types monitor, micromanage, or fuse.
Informed by Chapman (1995) "Five Love Languages" on how autonomy needs differ.
Combine these 4 binary axes and you get 2β΄ = 16 types β the same combinatorial structure that makes MBTI-style tests memorable, but focused entirely on love, dating, and relational health.
π Why 20 Countries? Β· μ 20κ°κ΅μΈκ°μ?
Attraction doesn't happen in a vacuum. What Koreans call "μΈ" is different from Italian "corteggiamento," which is different again from what Americans call "dating." Culture shapes how directly you flirt, how quickly you commit, whose family gets involved, and what counts as a red flag in the first place.
We picked the G20 countriesbecause they cover roughly two-thirds of the world's population and span the full spectrum of the cultural dimensions that matter most for relationships β individualism vs collectivism, masculinity vs femininity, uncertainty tolerance, and long-term vs short-term orientation.
Each country profile was built from three sources:
- Hofstede's cultural dimensionsβ for the baseline "how does this culture handle intimacy" scaffolding.
- Buss's cross-cultural mate preference data (1989, 37 cultures) β for what men and women in each region tend to prioritize.
- Local editorial reviewβ for the details no academic paper captures, like nightlife rhythm, marriage timing, and what "taking things slow" means locally.
The result: for every type, you get 3 best male matches, 3 best female matches, 1 country to avoid, and a short cultural read-out. It's meant to be fun and self-aware, not a travel booking recommendation β but a lot of users tell us it genuinely made them curious about a place they'd never considered.
β Frequently Asked Β· μμ£Ό 묻λ μ§λ¬Έ
Is this scientifically valid? Β· κ³Όνμ μΌλ‘ κ²μ¦λλμ?
It's science-informed, not a clinical instrument. The four axes are built on peer-reviewed research (Hazan & Shaver, Gottman, Chapman, Mikulincer & Shaver, Hofstede, Buss), but the packaging into 16 "red-flag archetypes" is a consumer-facing simplification. If you're in genuine relational distress, please consult a licensed therapist.
Is it really free? Β· μ λ§ λ¬΄λ£μΈκ°μ?
Yes. Every result page, every country profile, every article β 100% free, forever. We keep the lights on with unobtrusive display ads (once approved), never with your data. No email required, no account, no dark patterns.
Do you store my answers? Β· λ΅λ³μ μ μ₯νλμ?
Your answer stream stays in your browser. We keep only anonymous aggregate countsper result type (e.g., "X% of Korean visitors got ICVR") for the statistics page. Nothing that could identify an individual is ever stored on our servers.
What if I disagree with my result? Β· κ²°κ³Όμ λμνμ§ μμΌλ©΄μ?
That's valuable data. A 12-question quiz can't catch every nuance β you know yourself better than any test. Read the closest-match types, take the parts that resonate, and ignore the rest. Retaking after a few weeks often produces a sharper picture.
