About LoveRedFlags.com
A viral dating personality test grounded in psychology research, serving 8 languages and 20 countries.
π― Our Mission
LoveRedFlags.com was born from a simple observation: modern dating is complicated, but self-awareness is the single most important tool for building healthy relationships. Yet, most people never take the time to reflect on their own patterns.
Our mission is to make relationship self-reflection fun, accessible, and viral. Through a 2-minute quiz, we help people recognize their "red flag" tendencies in a playful format.
We also cross the language barrier: available in 8 languages including English, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic (with RTL support), Russian, and Chinese.
π§ Our Methodology
The 12 questions in our test are not random β they are carefully designed around established psychological frameworks:
π Attachment Theory
Based on the work of Bowlby and Ainsworth, we measure secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized attachment patterns.
π¬ Communication Styles
Drawing from Gottman's research on the "Four Horsemen" and healthy communication, we assess how you express and process emotions.
π’ Emotional Regulation
We measure emotional stability vs. volatility β a key predictor of relationship satisfaction according to modern personality psychology.
βοΈ Control vs. Autonomy
We assess where you fall on the spectrum from receptive/collaborative to controlling β one of the most studied factors in relationship health.
The result is one of 16 unique Red Flag types, each with detailed traits, strengths, challenges, and matching profiles.
π Global Matching System
After completing the quiz, we match you with:
- β 3 best-fit countries for male partners
- β 3 best-fit countries for female partners
- β οΈ 1 country to avoid based on your patterns
These matches are drawn from all 20 G20 nations: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, the UK, and the USA.
Important: These are based on cultural dating trends observed in popular culture, social media, and dating apps β not stereotypes about individuals. Every person is unique. This is meant as playful entertainment.

π οΈ Technology
LoveRedFlags.com is built with cutting-edge web technology:
π Our Story Β· μ°λ¦¬ μ΄μΌκΈ°
LoveRedFlags.com started from a simple observation: most personality tests treat love as an afterthought. MBTI tells you about work style. Enneagram maps your fears. But when it comes to how you actually love, argue, and heal in a relationship β you're on your own.
We spent months reading attachment research, Gottman Institute papers, and cross-cultural dating studies. We noticed a gap: the psychology of love is well documented, but almost never packaged in a way that regular people can actually apply to their next date, their current relationship, or the ex they still think about at 2 AM.
So we built the tool we wished existed. A 12-question quiz that maps you across four psychological axes we found were the strongest predictors of relationship compatibility in the research: emotional intensity, communication style, attachment security, and reactivity. Then we added a twist β because love isn't lived in a lab, it's lived across cultures. So every result also matches you to the three countries where partners with your traits tend to thrive.
Is it perfect science? No. Is it a fun, honest starting point for the hardest question we all ask β "why do I love the way I do?" β Yes. That's the whole promise.

Every result, every trait description, and every country-matching heuristic on this site is grounded in published psychology research. Here are the primary sources we draw on:

- [2]Gottman, J. M., & Silver, N. (2015). The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.Harmony Books. β our communication axis (direct / indirect) and reactivity coding is based on Gottman's "Four Horsemen" framework.

- [4]Mikulincer, M., & Shaver, P. R. (2007). Attachment in Adulthood: Structure, Dynamics, and Change. Guilford Press. β for the level-1 through level-5 red-flag severity scale.
- [5]Hofstede, G. (2011). Dimensions of national cultures. Online Readings in Psychology and Culture, 2(1). β foundation for our G20 country matching (individualism, uncertainty avoidance, long-term orientation dimensions).

βοΈ Editorial Standards
Every article and every result description on LoveRedFlags.com goes through a three-step process before publication:
Research grounding
Every claim gets traced back to at least one peer-reviewed source (attachment theory, Gottman research, cross-cultural psychology, etc.). Speculative interpretations are flagged as such.
Multilingual review
Content published in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and Russian is reviewed by native speakers, not machine-translated verbatim. Idioms and cultural references are localized, not literal.
Harm review
Any content touching abuse, trauma, or crisis situations is reviewed against guidance from the National Domestic Violence Hotline and APA relationship psychology guidelines. We link to professional resources where relevant, and we never diagnose.
If you find factual, translation, or safety issues in our content, please email modoomodoo88@gmail.com β we treat corrections as high priority and typically respond within 48 hours.
β Frequently Asked
Is this test scientifically valid?+
It's grounded in real research (see our References section) but it is not a validated clinical instrument. Think of it as a well-designed introduction to attachment theory and communication psychology β not a diagnosis. Real therapy and real relationships involve nuance no 12-question quiz can capture.
Do the "country matches" actually mean anything?+
The matches are entertainment-first, informed by cross-cultural psychology work (Hofstede's dimensions, Buss's cross-cultural mate preference study). They highlight likely cultural affinity, not individual compatibility. Any real person from any country can be a great match β culture is a starting point, not a rule.
Do you collect my personal data?+
No account, no email, no phone number is required. We only store aggregate, anonymous statistics about how many people get each of the 16 result types β and that only if you tap the "share stats" consent. See our Privacy Policy.
Why 20 countries and not more?+
We picked the G20 nations because they cover 60%+ of world population and have the richest published cross-cultural psychology datasets. We plan to expand to 50+ countries once we have equivalent research depth for smaller nations.
